REALM Portal, CE Posting, and When Our CE Will Resume
The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) have launched the new REALM Portal. This system replaces the old online licensing system and changes how license holders and education providers interact with the agency.
Since launch, REALM has had ongoing issues with the CE Posting System that education providers use to report completed courses. TREC has previously told license holders to renew on time in REALM, even if CE has not posted, and that no CE deferral fee would be charged during this transition period.
Where You Go to Renew Your License
Even while providers rebuild their posting systems, you still manage your license directly with TREC in REALM:

Why CE Is Still Paused Here (Even Though We Have the Specs)
We paused CE sales on this site when it became clear that providers did not have a dependable way to post CE into REALM. Now that TREC has finally delivered the technical details for the new Posting System, we are moving to the next phase: implementation and testing.
- We are rebuilding our CE Posting token to work with the new REALM Posting System.
- We will run test postings and verify that completed courses move cleanly from our system into TREC’s REALM records before we reopen CE to the public.
- Until those tests are successful, we are keeping CE courses temporarily paused so we do not sell you education we cannot yet guarantee we can post.
In plain language: we finally have the wiring diagram from TREC, but we are not going to flip the switch on CE until we see that the lights actually come on in REALM.
If Your Renewal Is Coming Up
While we rebuild and test CE posting on our side, TREC has made it clear that license holders should:
-
Log in to the REALM Portal and submit your renewal application and payment on time.
Start at https://www.trec.texas.gov/lms and follow TREC’s instructions to access your REALM account and renew. - Understand that during this REALM transition, TREC has indicated that license holders whose education has not yet posted can still renew on time and may continue to practice while posting issues are resolved.
- Keep copies of any CE completions you earn elsewhere (certificates, emails, receipts) so you have documentation if there is a delay in posting.
What Happens Next
We are monitoring REALM updates and working on our posting integration. Once:
- our new CE Posting token is fully configured and tested,
- we have confirmed that test completions appear correctly in REALM, and
- we are confident we can post your CE reliably and on time,
we will reopen CE offerings on this website and update this page with clear dates and details.
Until then, please use the REALM Portal directly to manage your renewal, and know that any delay in CE posting is tied to the statewide transition into REALM—not a lack of willingness on our part to serve you.
