REALM Portal Update

REALM Portal, CE Posting Delays, and Why We’ve Paused CE

Last updated: January 8, 2026

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board (TALCB) have launched the new REALM Portal. This system replaces the old online licensing system and changes how license holders and education providers interact with the agency.

On TREC’s REALM Portal Updates page, under “Continuing Education (CE),” TREC states that:

  • “CE posting is still in progress due to integration issues with education providers.”
  • “License holders will not be charged a CE deferral fee.”
  • “You should still submit your renewal application and pay the renewal fee, even if CE has not yet posted.”
  • “License holders may continue to practice without interruption.”
In plain English: TREC knows there are problems with the CE Posting System in REALM. They are telling license holders to renew on time in the REALM Portal, even if CE has not yet posted, and say that no CE deferral fee will be charged and you may continue to practice while they fix these issues.

Where You Go to Renew Your License

To renew, manage your license, or see TREC’s latest REALM guidance, start here:

From those pages, TREC will direct you to log in or create your REALM Portal account and walk you through the renewal steps.

Why We Have Temporarily Paused CE Courses on This Site

We want to be transparent about why you do not currently see CE courses available for purchase here.

  • TREC has changed license number formats and course approval numbers as part of REALM, and TREC itself says CE posting is still “in progress” because of integration issues with education providers.
  • As of today, we do not have a fully working, documented, and tested way to post CE completions into the new REALM system from our platform.
  • Without a reliable Posting System for providers under REALM, we cannot honestly guarantee when or how your completed CE would appear in TREC’s records.
  • Rather than sell CE that we cannot confidently post, we have chosen to temporarily pause CE sales and new CE enrollments on this website until TREC’s provider tools and posting process are proven to work.

In plain language: we are not willing to take your money for CE if we do not yet have a dependable way to deliver your completed hours into TREC’s REALM system. The bottleneck right now is the backend CE Posting System, not you and not the classroom.

If Your Renewal Is Coming Up

Even though we have paused CE here for the moment, TREC has made it clear that license holders should still:

  1. Log in to the REALM Portal and submit your renewal application and payment on time.
Start at https://www.trec.texas.gov/lms and follow TREC’s instructions to access your REALM account and renew.
  2. Understand that, during this REALM transition, TREC has stated that license holders whose education has not yet posted will still be able to renew on time, will not be charged the CE deferral fee, and may continue to practice while the Posting System issues are addressed.
  3. Watch for further guidance from TREC regarding when the Posting System for education providers is fully functional and how CE completions will be handled going forward.

What Happens Next

We are monitoring TREC’s REALM updates closely. Once:

  • the Posting System for providers in REALM is stable and clearly documented,
  • we have updated license and course number data in a format we can reliably use, and
  • we can verify that CE completions flow correctly into TREC’s records,

we will reopen CE offerings on this website and update this page with clear next steps and timelines.

Until then, please use the REALM Portal directly to manage your renewal, and know that any delay in CE posting is a result of statewide system changes at TREC—not something you or your provider caused.
