The TREC REALM portal is the Real Estate and Appraiser License Management portal. TREC uses it for prospective and current license holders who need to manage licenses, applications, renewals, sponsorships, and license records.

If you are a Texas real estate agent, REALM is where the state now pushes a lot of the work that used to feel scattered. It is not a TREA system. It belongs to TREC – TREC itself is explained here. TREA only helps with the CE side.

For CE, the key question is simple: did your completed hours reach TREC’s record? If they did not, your renewal can still get stuck.

Your CE provider does not renew your license for you. Your provider reports completed CE to TREC. Then TREC’s record has to show those hours before the renewal is clean.

TREC’s move to REALM took its systems down for about 45 days across the winter of 2025-2026. During the outage, no provider could post CE credit – nobody’s technology mattered, because TREC’s side of the wire was off.

The difference showed when TREC switched back on. Every provider had to re-integrate before credits could flow again. TREA was posting CE the first day tokens were issued – back up in one day, posting from day one.
