Here is what changed. Champions School of Real Estate closed their Fort Worth campus in April 2026. The big national online providers have never been local. That leaves one TREC CE provider headquartered in Fort Worth proper: Texas Real Estate Academy, on West Vickery Boulevard in Arlington Heights.

The Local Picture: Champions Closed, TREA Stayed

For years, Champions ran a Fort Worth campus. Many local agents took their CE there. In April 2026, Champions closed that location. Their remaining Texas campuses sit in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Not Fort Worth.

That matters for one specific reason. The other major CE providers in this market - The CE Shop, AceableAgent, 4MeCE, 360training - are online-only national or multi-state operations. They have never been a Fort Worth address. So the local CE option in this city is not a national company with a Fort Worth zip code attached. It is TREA, sitting at 4528 W Vickery Blvd #100, Fort Worth, TX 76107, in Arlington Heights between the Cultural District and the Hospital District.

Local matters because Fort Worth real estate is its own market. Cowtown contracts. The TCU corridor. Westside listings around Camp Bowie. Stockyards and Northside investment plays. Fairmount and Ryan Place historic district rules. Downtown high-rises in Sundance Square. None of that runs on Austin or Houston or Dallas comparables. What Fort Worth Agents Are Actually Renewing

The Texas Real Estate Commission requires 18 hours of CE every two years for an active sales agent license:

• Legal Update I - 4 hours (mandatory)
• Legal Update II - 4 hours (mandatory)
• Contract-related coursework - 3 hours
• Electives - 7 hours

Brokers add the 6-hour Broker Responsibility course on top, regardless of whether they sponsor agents. That rule changed January 1, 2026.

Most Fort Worth agents belong to the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS, the local board serving Tarrant County. GFWAR membership does not change your TREC CE requirement. Every Texas-licensed agent renews under the same 18-hour rule, whether you are GFWAR, MetroTex, or unaffiliated.

Since October 2023, an expired license goes inactive immediately. Broker affiliations terminate the same day. There is no grace period anymore. So if your CE has not posted to TREC by your renewal date, you are not late. You are unlicensed.
