Texas Real Estate CE Courses - Common Questions

Fast answers to what agents ask most.
Most agents need 18 hours every two years: Legal Update I, Legal Update II, and at least 7 hours of elective CE. That is exactly what the Hall Pass ($75) covers. Additionally, if you only need the required courses and contract hours, Lunch Money ($48) handles 11 hours. If you want everything TREA offers -- including broker responsibility -- Dean's List ($85) is your bundle.

In other words, there is a bundle for every renewal situation. Check your renewal date at TREC.texas.gov to confirm what you still need. That way you pick the right bundle on the first try.

Approximately 3 seconds. In fact, TREA uses a direct TREC API integration -- not a batch upload, not an overnight process. Finish a course and your hours are visible on the TREC website before you close the browser tab. Even better, this works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. You can verify your posted hours yourself at TREC.texas.gov.
Yes. TREA offers a no-questions-asked refund policy. If you want a refund, you get one. Plus, you keep every CE hour you have already completed -- those credits stay posted to TREC regardless. As a result, there are no time limits and no hoops to jump through.
Dean's List adds four courses on top of everything in Hall Pass: Who Do You Think You Are? (2 hrs, free personality course), 5 Mistakes Inspectors Make (1 hr), Choosing the Wrong Home Inspector (1 hr), and Broker Responsibility (6 hrs). For example, the Broker Responsibility course is required for brokers and supervisory agents under TREC rules. If that applies to you, Dean's List is the right pick at $85.
TREC requires a 6-hour Broker Responsibility course if you are a broker, a designated broker of a business entity, or a supervisor of other license holders. However, if you are not in one of those roles, it is optional. If you need it, Dean's List ($85) includes it. In any case, verify your own requirements at TREC.texas.gov.
Yes. Texas Real Estate Academy is TREC CE Provider #10010-CEP. That means the texas real estate CE courses in every bundle are TREC-approved and count toward your license renewal. You can verify provider status on the TREC website.
